Purchasing Agent (Supervisor)
The Purchasing Agent purchases materials, vehicles, equipment, and supplies on a timely basis and establishes and maintains controls, procedures and inventory levels for materials for effective management of the Cooperative and supervises and manages the warehouse and it’s assigned attendants.
• Maintain an optimum inventory of quality material, equipment, and supplies to ensure efficient use of Cooperative working capital.
• Responsible for maintaining continuous inventory control over stock in storage in assigned warehouses to ensure an adequate supply for the construction and maintenance program of the Cooperative.
• Issue purchase orders for goods and services.
• Facilitate equipment repairs through appropriate channels.
• Keeps informed of construction projects and other special needs for materials and equipment.
• Keep informed of approved RUS material standards and specifications and other applicable standards.
• Works with Accounting to ensure purchase orders and invoices are correct.
• Interface with all Cooperative departments to meet purchasing needs and provide information.
• Ensure all reports, documents, and items required by all the controlling authorities are maintained.
• Other duties and hours as requested.
• Ensure that all warehouses and pole yards are locked daily and kept clean and orderly.
• Cross trains for a continual flow of task and assignments even in your absence.
• Oversee and designate warehouse personnel duties, task, and assignments.
• Create an environment of unity, peace, and continuity for this department and with other departments.
• High School Degree or equivalent required. Five to seven years’ prior work experience.
• Excellent customer service orientation and interpersonal skills for effective interaction with managers, employees, vendors, and others; excellent planning, organizational and analytical skills with ability to work independently and in a team environment to accomplish established goals and meet deadlines.
• Should have a working knowledge of RUS specifications, guidelines, and or other applicable specification and guidelines.
• Linework experience/knowledge is preferred.
• Must be able to maintain accurate record keeping of transactions.
• Must be able to complete all assignments with attention to detail and accuracy.
• Must maintain confidentiality with sensitive information.
• Must be able to effectively manage stress and pressure in a frequently changing environment, ability to multi-task calmly and effectively in all situations.
• Must be able to interact well with internal and external customers, handling inquiries and/or composing correspondence. Always conveys professional interaction, thereby maintaining positive relations. Displays and encourages team effort for maximum efficiency and productivity.
• Demonstrated knowledge in the operation of personal computers and MS Office Suite programs, with proficiency using word processing, spreadsheets, presentation, and electronic mail software applications.
• Effective communication skills including written, verbal and listening; ability to prepare all types of office correspondence; design and produce reports; prepare and present presentations; excellent documentation skills and detail orientation.
• Must hold a valid driver’s license at the level necessary to operate vehicles in the performance of position responsibilities.
• Maintains thorough working knowledge of Cooperative Bylaws, policies, procedures, and
safety manual.
• Must be able to attend periodic seminars and training programs.

Electrical Engineer or Engineering Technician
The work produced by this position will assist in determining the design of the electrical systems being built by one of the fastest growing electric cooperatives in the area.
• Assist with Department of Transportation/ County projects involving road and bridge.
• Assist with large power projects involving overhead and underground conversions.
• Load forecast studies
• Analyzing meter data such as demand, coincidental & non-coincidental peak
• Collecting and processing data for large power billing & G & T reports • Budgets
• Developing work plan projects
• System coordination
• Power quality correction
• Other duties and hours as requested.
• Knowledge of REA specifications and line construction methods for overhead & underground
• Excel spreadsheets
• WindMil
• Good mathematical, drafting, and mapping skills.
• Knowledge about current industry technology, concepts, principles, practice, and established procedures
• Knowledge of distribution and transmission load flow models
• Degree in Engineering/Math/Science/Technology or related field OR job experience may be substituted for education.
• Must possess a valid driver’s license.
• Must be able to pass a drug screening and background check.
• Able to work overtime, holidays, or weekends when needed.
• Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
• Ability to read and understand blueprints and staking sheets.
• Must be able to handle varied activities simultaneously, applying appropriate weight to each activity to ensure compliance with schedule requirements.
